On January 16th, 2021, HF held a live webinar event on Zoom with Ar. Yasmeen Lari hosted by HF’s Esha Sikander.   

The webinar was centered around Q&A, comments, suggestions, and thoughts on the Trial Tutorials that were released on HF’s Zero Carbon Channel last month. Ar. Yasmeen Lari herself addressed the questions and queries which allowed for some interesting dialogue to take place.

The 40-minute Q&A-based event garnered over 41 participants by the end of the session, including participants from Pakistan, American, Portugal, India, Bangladesh, UAE, Australia, Japan, UK, Iraq, Malaysia, and more.

Denso Hall Rahguzar

On January 6th 2021, The Mariott Road shopkeepers have generously collaborated with HF’s efforts in restoring the Heritage Facades. The wall face-off has begun at Quetta Wala building and the shop keeps are voluntarily removing the shutters from the facade, allowing for site work to commence with ease.

On January 5th, 2021, Heritage Foundation of Pakistan (HF) installed the three-meter pillar walls at Denso Hall Rahgzar for the electric work that is to be carried out by K.E. Additionally HF got the level surveys done to demarcate the levels for the pavement that is to be laid out.

On January 3rd, 2021, the first sample of Boulder has been installed at Denso Hall Rahguzar. The boulders are being carved out of Makli Stone at Zero Carbon Cultural Centre (ZC3).

On January 2nd, 2021, KMC’s anti-encroachment team began the work on site. The team has removed the tiled floor of the make-shift Masjid that spills over the street. Some steps of shops that were encroaching the footpath have also been removed. The removal is being done to make the footpath more walkable as well as to make the pavement installation process easier.

On 31st December 2020, HF finished laying out the first segment of terracotta pavement at Denso Hall - the first segment of the Red Trail that will connect the historic Denso Hall with Kharadar Chowk and the Custom House.

The radial pavement design centralizes around the 12” dia natural ceramic plaques carrying heritage images that are specially fabricated to dot the trail with reminders of Karachi’s glorious past. The tiles are hand-made in Makli by HF’s Barefoot Entrepreneur women.

On  December 29th, the facade of Denso Hall Library is being cleaned by HF using our Herbal Reetha Soap Mix. Additionally, a special mud lime plaster is being prepared to plaster the trenches on Mariott Road.

On December 29th, 2020, the first segment of the terracotta cobble pavement on Marriot road was completed. The wiring work which started on 28th of December has moved to the next stage. K.E has started connecting wires to the recently installed pole. PTCL has shifted its booth connection to a new designated space.

Furthermore, the trenches on site that were previously lined by HF with bamboo panels have been plastered with mud lime plaster.

Denso Hall Rahguzar - Tile Work, K.E and PTCL

On  December 28th, 2020 the underground wiring work for Denso Hall Rahguzar has started. Karachi Electric (K.E) has installed their required electrical post and PTCL (Telecommunications company) is in the process of taking the wires underground.

Furthermore, the trenches on site that were previously lined by HF with bamboo panels have been plastered with mud lime plaster.
