I have begun this series in order to develop record of how various karigar villages with their specialized barefoot enterprises are moving forward. As more information is coming in it is good to know that some have begun earning small amounts through their enterprise- some of the income is from subsidized products that Heritage Foundation has supported, but some is also happening because other villages in need of affordable and low cost products.

I am getting regular reports from the villages and it is heartening to note how busy all villagers are in trying to improve their environment. While reports are being prepared on each village’s performance and production capabilities, it is important to discuss the results achieved in relation to the provision of shelter.

Remote training for emergency LOG shelter for Bank of Punjab’s selected villages at Rojhan, Southern Punjab

Remote training was conducted for beneficiaries form Bank of Punjab (BoP)’s selected villages from Southern Punjab at Rojhan. 24 trainees form 6 selected villages and 20 employees of BoP participated in the 2-day training session conducted remotely by HF’s Naheem Shah & Ashfaq Ahmed as well as 3 HF artisans were physically present at the venue. During that 20 emergency LOG shelters were built.

Completion of 1000 Emergency LOG Shelters in collaboration with INTBAU Pakistan Chapter

1000 Emergency LOG shelters were fabricated at ZC3, Makli by artisan and team of Heritage Foundation of Pakistan. These shelters were delivered to various villages in Sindh to severely affected communities. Besides that 200 shelters were donated by HF to flood affected villages in Makli as well.
