The students engaged in many activities during their stay. Some of the workshops they participated in included, bamboo for construction and furniture, clay and terra cotta products, brick making and lime brick making, plaster and thatch and chulah decorations among others.

UK based architects (Nyami Studio) spend three weeks in Pono Village to build a school for the locals, using sustainable building techniques pioneered by HF.

Architects Neil Palmer, and Froilan Palaci from Nyami Studio, London, UK, spent three weeks in Pono Village to build a school for the locals, using zero carbon environment friendly materials such as bamboo, lime and mud using sustainable building techniques pioneered by the Heritage Foundation. The structure was designed by the architects and all the materials are locally sourced. They are joined by faculty and architecture students from the US in a visit to Pono Village cluster.
